MULTICAVITY MOLDS
QUALITY to the power of X

Multicavity molds have a decisive advantage: high productivity is achieved with one cycle on the injection molding machine. However, not many cavities (mold nests) are available everywhere, or their number is limited.

The Steiert Präzisionsformenbau team not only supports you in the production of a multi-cavity mold, where we do not shy away from a total number of three-digits, but we also tell you what is possible. Due to in-house design and development, we support you in determining the economically and qualitatively optimal number of cavities.

STACK MOLDS
oNE MOLD, SEVERAL TASKS

Stack molds are the technical highlights of the Steiert company - very demanding in terms of difficulty and complexity. A stack mold has at least two planes of parting. In principle, these are two injection molds stacked on top of each other, with production taking place on each floor. With the Steiert stack mold, several combinations of plastic parts can be realized:

  • 1. The parting planes each produce identical plastic parts.
  • 2. Each parting plane produces one type of part from one plastic material, e.g., cups and lids.
  • 3. Different part production on each parting plane using different materials.
  • 4. Other innovative approaches.

MULTI-COMPONENT MOLDS
ONE MOLD - SEVERAL COMPONENTS

Multi-component means processing different plastics. All this in just one mold - a 2-component mold or 3-component mold. Multi-component mold means that at least two different plastics are injected one after the other into the injection mold. These molds are often made to produce a plastic product with one hard and one soft component. However, the combination of different colours is also frequently demanded. This technology significantly increases the design scope for the product.
